About Us
Setting the standard for open source monitoring platforms since 2000
We founded The OpenNMS Group in 2004 because we were looking for a better way to take care of carrier and enterprise clients. Opportunity was there, because the established, proprietary solutions were expensive, inflexible, and hard to deploy. We saw how clients had to change their business process to fit the tool instead of the other way around. There had to be a better way.
We were just the team to build it.
OpenNMS is the world’s first fully open source enterprise-grade network service monitoring platform, and hundreds of enterprises use it every day without a bit of help from us. It’s that easy to work with. And as true open source, it’s 100% free.
As proud creators and maintainers of the OpenNMS platform, we welcome you to the table. We provide training, support, custom development, and consulting from our headquarters near Research Triangle, North Carolina, or at your site (depending on Covid restrictions) – whether you're in San Francisco, Auckland, or Dubai.
Our Open Source Commitment
Our purpose is to unite the monitoring community with an open source, vendor-neutral platform.
The OpenNMS Group (TOG) remains committed to open source and continues the stewardship of the OpenNMS open source project. TOG will expand the viability and competitiveness of our commercial solutions and services based on continued growth and adoption of the open source software project.
The future direction of the OpenNMS project includes two major software changes: architecting for further scale (microservices) and sustainability (enhanced user experience), to benefit users, customers, and the commercial aspirations of the company. Key to these changes is the ongoing effort to complete all enhancements to the software in the open so that the community can install and run OpenNMS on premise as they always have.
Open source is one of our company values and a key aspect to the business plan that drives NantHealth's continued investment in The OpenNMS Group as a subsidiary of NantHealth.
