Simpler Configuration Meets a Modern Foundation
Meridian 2026 brings configuration work that used to happen in XML files into the interface. Event definitions, SNMP configuration, trap configuration, and SNMP data collection now live in the database and are managed directly through the UI or the REST API, so your team can make changes without editing files on the server or restarting daemons. Add light and dark themes and an early look at the redesigned topology views, and Meridian becomes noticeably faster to adjust and easier to work in every day.
Beneath the interface, the foundation moves to current, fully supported technology. Meridian 2026 runs on Java 21 and PostgreSQL 14, with stock Spring and Hibernate releases replacing the patched forks we maintained for years, giving customers a cleaner upgrade path and a more maintainable base for what comes next. This release also opens Meridian to AI agents through an optional MCP server, replaces the Slack and Mattermost notification strategies with a flexible webhook strategy that can reach Teams, Discord, and beyond, brings OpenConfig telemetry to Minion, and adds environment-variable service control for containerized deployments.
