The OpenNMS Group Appoints Ron Louks Chief Executive Officer

Former HTC and Sony Ericsson Executive to Drive Corporate Growth and Accelerate Product Innovation of Market-Leading OpenNMS

PITTSBORO, N.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Open source solutions provider The OpenNMS Group, Inc. announced today that it has named Ron Louks as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. A veteran industry executive who has held senior leadership roles at HTC and Sony Ericsson, Louks’ selection sets the stage for the company’s next phase of growth. As CEO, Louks will focus on corporate vision and strategy, the product roadmap and continuing to drive innovation.

The Board of Directors, including founder and former CEO Tarus Balog, led the search that brought Louks to OpenNMS. “We see OpenNMS not only as an application platform for computer networking equipment, but as the future de facto platform for ‘The Internet of Things’,” said Balog, who shifts roles to Chairman and COO. “With Ron’s experience in the mobile handset market as well as his role in leading large engineering teams, we see him as a perfect fit to reach that goal.”

Ron joins OpenNMS with more than twenty years experience. Previously, Louks was the Chief Strategy Officer at HTC and the Chief Technology Officer at Sony Ericsson. His teams have been credited with shipping more than 200 million consumer electronics products and have launched many notable industry-first innovations that have shaped today’s technology and experience landscape.

Ron will be leading the OpenNMS group through a period of high growth and expansion, including markets in Europe and Asia as well as new software as a service product lines to augment the already popular OpenNMS application.
